A Stellar Digital Frame

Review Date: November 13, 2009

I tried to do a lot of research before buying my first digital picture frame and it all pointed to this Samsung model. Friends told me I could get a similar frame for half the price but the facts didin't bear it out.
The lines of this frame are crisp and stylish, great for any decor. I have a traditional house heavy on the antiques and it fits in as well as it would in a modernist minimalist setting.
The picture quality and the apect ratio are awesome, much better than on most of the frames I looked at. It's easy to set up and use; though I do have to tell you it comes with only a quick guide; if you want the in depth instructions you have to download the guide from Samsung.
It's great in that it has a built in memory as well as accepting a card and a memory stick. It has lots of display options and a shuffle capability that make every time you turn it on a different experience. Very pleased, in fact am going to buy another and most of my friends who have seen it are now going to 'upgrade' from their other frames!
Love it at the office

I bought this Samsung digital frame to use on my desk at the office. I am very pleased. I connected the USB cable and downloaded a few hundred pics to the internal memory. The frame contains an "auto on" feature to automatically start or stop each day, but I prefer to turn it on manually. There is no remote but it's so easy to reach over and push the power button on the rear panel while my PC is booting up. I am displaying my pics in full view, so the frame will automatically cut off the top & bottom to utilize the full width. Some pics in "portrait" configuration get cut off, but landscape pics are all great. (I'm not sure why the frame makers are not keeping standard camera aspect ratios, but this seems common.) If you have a lot of pics in portrait config, them you may be disappointed displaying them on this frame. I've received a lot of positive comments from co-workers. The resolution has surpassed my expectations.
Great Multi-Use Frame

After purchasing a LCD T.V. and cell phone through Samsung, I began to notice that they put quality into their products. So once I began looking for a digital picture frame, I went straight for Samsung. The first things I noticed when I took the Frame out of the box was how thin it was and how lightweight it was. It also has a very glossy "glass" looking plastic around the screen which looks great. And once you turn it on things only get better. The screen looks great and has a very easy to use menu on the side that corresponds to the buttons on the back, so you don't have to turn it around when controlling it. Currently my main use for it is to extend my computer screen onto it, which seems to work very well, even though sometimes it can get a little slow and the mouse kind of "jumps" around the screen, but other than that, I find it very useful, and an added feature that I love is that you can power the frame right off your computer through a USB. A feature that I haven't yet used is the auto on-off times, which can be great if you don't want to have to always be there to turn it on and off. The slideshows also have some very neat touches where it scatters pictures around the screen instead of just showing one at a time. My one and only gripe about it is its' stand, it folds out which is nice, but it does not angle the screen enough for viewing from above, it just tilts the frame back enough on level surfaces so it doesn't tip over. All in all, get this or the bigger 10-inch model, you'll like it.

*Forgot to add in that the picture shows that it has a big "Samsung" label slapped on it, mine doesn't and I think it is there just for advertising purposes.
great image quality and plenty of storage

The 8 inch display is magnificent and clear. The user interface is really easy to learn and requires really little effort to use. after loading a few images onto it, i found it hard to fill up the internal 1GB space thats already included. Its definitely one of the most generous digital picture frames out there. The surface of the plastic frame, however, is very soft and easily scratched. Be careful.
Incredibile Picture!

I ordered three frames for Christmas presents and they were the best presents of the year. The ease of loading the pictures and the function buttons on the back of the frame made the setup of this product very easy. The picture is incredible! I have a Samsung HD TV and the quality that the Samsung name carries continued with this product. There are four options for display formats that s an added bonus. The built in 1G memory was a big seller for me. I loaded the product with 250 pics to start and was only half way full on the memory. Great Product at a Great Price!!!!
